Action Summary of City Council Meetings
The following is a summary of key action items taken by the Mayor and Council at the Special Set Emergency City Council meeting. The meeting was held at City Hall at 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa. This Special Set Emergency Meeting was due to the deadline for Haralson County to complete the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Referendum process.

City Council “Emergency” Meeting – January 17, 2026
- Approved the Resolution for the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Referendum for the year 2027 and allowing Mayor Brett Jones authority to make changes that are in the best interest of the City of Tallapoosa.
The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Mayor and Council is Monday, February 9th at 6:00 pm at City Hall at 25 E. Alabama St.
