If your account is delinquent, disconnected, or in the disconnect process, you MUST contact our office BEFORE you make a payment. Services will not automatically be restored or disconnection prevented if payment is made without contacting our office FIRST!

IMPORTANT: The City of Tallapoosa is not liable if you receive a disconnect notice and do not call our office before making payment. Your services may be disconnected and will be subject to a reconnection fee. If you are disconnected, your account balance plus a reconnection fee will need to be paid in FULL before services are reconnected. If you are currently disconnected and make an online payment, your utilities WILL NOT be reconnected unless you contact our office to inform us of the payment. The City of Tallapoosa allows up to 48 hours after we receive payment to reconnect any services.

By Mail
To pay by mail, make your check or money order payable to the City of Tallapoosa and send it, along with your utility bill statement stub, to the following address

Or use the convenient self-addressed envelope enclosed with your invoice. Be sure if you are sending payment by US Mail that you are mailing it in time for us to receive it by the due date. Remember, it can take up to seven (7) days for a mailed payment to make its way through the mail and be processed.

Online Through a Bank
If you are paying online through a bank account, you must include your account number when you set the City of Tallapoosa as a payee for online payment. Although you may have set up payment through an online portal, your bank may write and print a check and mail it to the City of Tallapoosa on your behalf. Remember, it can take up to seven (7) days for a mailed payment to make its way through the mail and be processed. To ensure that the check is sent to the right place, please be sure your bank has the correct remittance address for the City of Tallapoosa:

By Phone
To pay by phone using an electronic check, credit, or debit card, please call NexBill Pay at 1 (855)-608-2479. To use this method, customers must have the correct account number and exact amount owed.
Payment
In Person
Payments may be made in person at Tallapoosa City Hall. Cash, check, credit, or debit cards are accepted when making payments in person. Tallapoosa City Hall lobby is open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. A convenient drop box is available for payments outside the entrance of city hall, available after hours or when the lobby is closed. The drop box is monitored by staff daily. Please do not put cash payments in drop box.
