Join us on Labor Day weekend 2010 to celebrate Tallapoosa\'s 150th Birthday at the Sesquicentennial 150th Birthday Celebration! The weekend - long event will kick off on Thursday night with a Fashion Show, and continue virtually non-stop through Monday Morning! Guests are encouraged to wear costumes depicting fashion circa 1860. Gentlemen will have the opportunity to enter their beards in the Longest Beard Contest, and beware, if you do not grow a beard, you must purchase a permit to prevent the Possum Snout Sheriff from throwing you in the clinker! There will be a variety of activities, including blue ribbon contests for pies, jams, jellies, pickles, and the like, concerts, class reunions from the Tallapoosa High School and West Haralson High School, a Street Dance on Saturday night, a community worship service on Sunday morning followed by dinner on the grounds, AND A WHOLE LOT MORE!!!!
